Our location is convenient, very close to Saksun, Tjørnuvik, Slættaratindur, and Gjógv. We have various local and visitor customers, including catering for private jets and tour groups. We want to provide the same level of service for your clients. 

We offer standard American/European foods but also have local specialities and an Ethiopian traditional food and coffee ceremony on demand and with reservations. We can take care of up to 200 people at a time with proper notice and arrangements.

“Seldom do I meet someone so driven, inspired, and passionate about food. Also, her quest for perfection (but importantly a wonderful human). Yes, I am talking about Chef Rose Poulsen. So, after ten years finally I made it to Faroe Island via the excellent and friendly Atlantic Airways from Edinburgh to meet Rose at her legendary Roses Café and Restaurant in Ljosa.

Only being allowed out for a whistle-stop five days, I engrossed myself into the island and more so into Roses’s food and great culinary passions. We spent many long hours deliberating, cogitating, and ruminating over great food architecture, trends, challenges, influences, and then the general chit chat about life which most Restauranteurs are good at.

Roses husband Pól would excite me with his wisdom and knowledge of his life on fishing boats, the sea with the greatest of all food, fish. I mean to meet a pair where the total journey in food starts and finishes from sea to pan, and plate is so amazing and mega! Their fresh fish made what I considered to be the best fresh fish in Jersey, now take second plaice (pardon my humour).

I will miss Rose and Pól and indeed the incredible views of the ‘Yellow house with the green roof’ overlooking the Atlantic out of the Roses Restaurant window. But will I miss her food, her infectious laugh and culinary drive? ….you bet…big style.

I am already plotting to return and possibly persuade her to do a joint dinner”

The food was passionately put together and delivered. I had the smoked salmon, fish/chips, and apple pie. To drink, a coffee. All specular.

When you couldn’t think your experience couldn’t get better with the food, then you have Rose. She is such an inspirational and loving person. I feel very blessed I got some time to connect with her, she loves what she has created and you can tell. She is one of the most thoughtful individual I have ever met.
